The Jawana Women’s Leadership and Empowerment Course equips women between 18 and 30 with the leadership and management skills necessary in both public and private spheres to attain economic empowerment. The courses are 12 weeks long, with classes four hours per day, three times a week, and are offered in Balkh, Herat, Jalalabad, Kabul and Kandahar provinces. To date, nearly 23,000 individuals have completed Jawana courses. Their course projects have positively impacted an estimated 172,000 direct beneficiaries and over 900,000 total beneficiaries.
