USAID’s Promote Women’s Leadership Development (WLD) project engaged the private sector to facilitate partnerships that leverage resources from public and private entities to directly support the goals and strategic objectives of the project. These included employment, training, and other opportunities to support WLD participants, and engaged with:

  • • Donors and the international community that supported women’s empowerment in Afghanistan
  • Local, national, and multinational corporations
  • Business and trade associations
  • University business programs
  • Government and private sector promotion agencies
  • Diaspora communities engaged in business and economic development

WLD aims to build partnerships that support program graduates through the following activities:

  • Career development scholarships
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Internships
  • Mentorships
  • Market promotion opportunities
